What's included

One crew, start to finish.

David designs it, prices it in writing, and his own crew builds it. No hand-offs to a separate sub.

01

Grill islands

Built-in grills, side burners, fridges and storage, laid out so the cook is not in the way of the party.

02

Counters & finishes

Stone veneer, stucco and concrete tops chosen during design to match the house and patio.

03

Shade over the cook

A pergola or solid-roof pavilion over the kitchen, with lights and a fan if you want them.

04

Gas, water & power

Utility runs planned with the design, so outlets, the sink and the gas line end up where you actually need them.

Know before you build

Things to plan for.

Permits for utilities

New gas lines and outdoor circuits usually need a building permit and an inspection. DG Landscape Design plans that into the schedule from the start.

Lay it out for real use

Leave counter space on both sides of the grill, keep smoke away from the seating, and keep the main walkway clear of the cook. Those three choices decide whether a kitchen gets used.

Built for Sacramento summers

Afternoon sun is brutal here. Shade over the cook area and lighter-colored counters keep the kitchen usable in July.

Rules and programs change. Confirm with your city, the County or your HOA before you start.

5.0★★★★★ David's Google rating from his past clients

“They rebuilt our deck, added an outdoor kitchen and a trellis, and took care of the plumbing and electrical. It's been two years and everything is still in great shape.”

Questions

Outdoor kitchens FAQ.

How much does an outdoor kitchen cost?

It depends on the size of the island, the appliances, the finishes and how far the gas, water and power have to run. David gives you a written price after a free site visit.

Can you build it on my existing patio?

Often, yes, if the slab is in good shape and can carry the weight. David checks during the site visit and tells you if anything needs to change first.

Do I need a permit?

Usually for new gas lines and electrical, and sometimes for a roof over the kitchen. Your city or the County decides; DG Landscape Design plans for it so it does not hold up the build.

Do you install the grill and appliances?

Yes. DG Landscape Design builds the island and installs the built-in grill and appliances you choose.
